Stephanie Manning

Stephanie has been a Pilates instructor since 2013 and has owned her studio since 2016, with a focus on helping clients reconnect with their bodies through functional, mindful movement. She believes Pilates is more than an exercise routine: it’s a thoughtful system designed to restore balance, strength, and awareness. Stephanie’s goal is to help clients move with confidence and ease, while gaining a deeper understanding of how Pilates can truly transform how they feel in their bodies every day.

Over the last two years, Stephanie has brought this same philosophy into her Pilates Teacher Training Program, guiding future instructors to see Pilates not as choreography, but as a living, evolving method of transformation. Her approach emphasizes strong technical foundations paired with empathy, purpose, and an understanding of functional movement. She continues to deepen her work through advanced education in shoulder biomechanics, scoliosis, and reformer and barrel training, integrating classical Pilates principles with modern movement science.

“By integrating classical Pilates principles with modern movement science, I strive to empower both clients and teachers to connect, transform, and create lasting change through the Pilates method.

Kaitlyn Vann Bean

Kaitlyn has been teaching Pilates for nearly 8 years. She first discovered Pilates in 2007 as a way to manage anxiety and panic attacks, and it quickly became life-changing. Pilates offered her something traditional workouts never had: a way to move with intention, feel grounded in her body, and build strength without force. That experience shaped how she teaches today. Kaitlyn’s favorite part of teaching is showing people what their bodies are capable of, no matter their age or condition, and helping them function at their best through mindful, purposeful movement.

Kaitlyn opened her first private Pilates studio in 2020 and expanded to include small group classes in 2022. She launched her Instructor Training program using the PEI curriculum in October of 2023 and has since trained 20 instructors, with several graduates currently preparing to complete their Comprehensive Certification. She has also mentored instructors since 2019, bringing years of hands-on teaching and leadership into her role as a master teacher.

“My favorite part of teaching new teachers is the far-reaching impact. Pilates changed my life, and I want everyone to have the opportunity to experience it. As an individual, I can only have so much impact, but by educating and developing new instructors, they can reach so many more people than I ever could.”

Amy Lademann

Amy has been teaching Pilates for over two decades, beginning her career in 2000 and transitioning to full-time instruction in 2001. She discovered Pilates while searching for relief from significant sciatica pain, and the method completely transformed her relationship with her body. That personal experience continues to shape how she teaches today. Amy’s favorite part of teaching is witnessing those “aha” moments, when movement clicks, confidence grows, and Pilates becomes empowering rather than intimidating. She often reminds clients that Pilates makes them better at everything else they love to do, and finds deep joy in seeing their work in the studio carry over into everyday life.

Amy co-founded BEYOND MOTION in 2007 and opened the physical studio in 2009, following several years of teaching in Naples, Florida beginning in 2004. Over the years, her work has grown from a passion for mindful movement into a long-standing commitment to education, community, and meaningful, lasting results. As a teacher of teachers, Amy has spent many years mentoring instructors, with a focus on helping them move beyond choreography and truly understand the “why” behind the work. She loves teaching the nuanced decision-making and problem-solving that comes only from decades of experience and working with a wide range of bodies.

“My passion is helping teachers move beyond choreography and truly understand the why behind the work. Watching future instructors gain confidence, clarity, and excitement for the craft—and seeing those lightbulb moments go on—is incredibly fulfilling.”

Irene Clancy

Irene has been a Pilates instructor for 5 years. She loves teaching because Pilates gives people the chance to truly discover what their bodies are capable of. There’s nothing more rewarding as an instructor than watching someone fall in love with movement, seeing their confidence grow as they realize they are stronger, more capable, and more connected to themselves than they ever thought possible. It’s a privilege to be part of that journey.

Irene’s studio opened in February 2023.

“Being a teacher of teachers has been one of the most meaningful parts of my journey. It’s challenged me to dig deeper into myself — to remember that every person learns differently, and that real teaching isn’t just about delivering information. It’s about connection. It’s about finding a way to reach someone so they can reach deeper into themselves…I always tell my students that anyone can read cues from a book and call it teaching. But true instruction — true leadership — is about seeing who is right in front of you, meeting them where they are, and guiding them forward with intention and care.”

Karly Merrill

Karly has been teaching for 21 years, including comprehensive certification, classical training, and continuing education around pelvic floor, core activation, and breathing proficiency. Her favorite thing about teaching is seeing clients completely change in a single hour of instruction. People walk easier, they breathe easier and their nervous systems have reset. It’s visible that they have transitioned from sympathetic to parasympathetic after our sessions. Their posture is better, but they don’t look like they are working hard to feel their abs; it’s automatic.

Karly has owned her studio for 10 years, which has won “Best Pilates Studio” or runner-up in Capital Region Living Magazine every year since 2015. She has been a teacher of teachers through PEI since February of 2023, and has since graduated 7-8 student teachers in the 100 hour mat program and many others in the comprehensive 450 hour training. One of her student teachers has even gone on to open her own studio in the region!

“I love teaching teachers because it’s really cool seeing how good they have become from my program.”
